A bride in a white gown standing in soft natural daylight before her ceremony

Bridal artistry · Studio & on location

Makeup that still looks like you at midnight.

Umber Ridge is a small bridal studio building skin-first, long-wearing looks for wedding mornings — unhurried, photographed beautifully, and comfortable enough to forget you are wearing it.

  • Bridal party makeup

The studio

A calm chair, a considered face.

Umber Ridge was built around one idea: a wedding morning should feel slow. Skin is prepared properly, colour is mixed to match your undertone, and nothing is applied that you would not wear on an ordinary Saturday.

Every booking begins with a conversation about your dress, your light and how you normally wear makeup. The look is then built to hold through heat, happy tears and a long night of dancing without turning heavy on camera.

  • Skin first, always

Cleanse, prep and hydrate before a single pigment is touched, so the finish sits on skin rather than over it.

  • Built for the whole day

Layered, flexible products chosen for humidity, photography and a ceremony that rarely runs to time.

  • An unhurried morning

Timings planned backwards from your photographer's first frame, with room for the moments you did not schedule.

How it works

From first message to the first frame.

Four steps, no guesswork. You will always know what happens next and roughly when it happens.

  1. Step 01

    Enquiry

Send your date and getting-ready location. You will hear back with availability and a written quote.

  2. Step 02

    Trial

We design the look in the studio, adjust it in different light, and write down exactly what was used.

  3. Step 03

    Timing plan

A morning schedule is built around your party size and shared with whoever is keeping you on track.

  4. Step 04

    Wedding morning

Kit arrives early, the room stays calm, and you are finished with time to spare before photographs.

Questions

The things brides ask first.

Do I need a trial before the wedding?

It is not compulsory, but it is recommended. A trial lets us test the look against your dress and your light, and it means the wedding morning is repetition rather than decisions.

Do you travel to the venue?

Yes. Most weddings are covered on location at your getting-ready suite. Travel beyond the usual radius is quoted in advance so there are no surprises on the invoice.

How long does the morning take?

Allow around ninety minutes for the bride and forty-five for each additional person. The final schedule is written backwards from the time your photographer needs you ready.

Can you work with sensitive or mature skin?

Yes. Tell me about your skin in the enquiry — reactivity, texture, rosacea, acne or anything in treatment — and the prep and products are chosen around it before the trial.

What if my date is already taken?

You will be told straight away rather than left waiting, and where possible you will be pointed toward another artist working in a similar style.
